  • SEED

    1918ITALY

In 1918, Aniceto Verdi and his family arrived in Chile from Italy, leaving behind the echoes of war in pursuit of a dream: to produce wine in the fertile Central Valley of Chile, already known at that time for its privileged geography and exceptional climate. The family settled in the city of Linares, where, although viticulture was not their primary activity, the passion for grape and wine production persisted in the family memory.

  • BLOOM

    2004CHILE

Decades later, in 2004, Néstor Manríquez and his wife Rosa Ana Verdi, the great-granddaughter of Aniceto Verdi, decided to honor this legacy by founding Viña Casa Verdi. With a modern and innovative vision, they focused on creating high-quality wines aimed at the most demanding international markets. The establishment of Casa Verdi coincided with a global surge in boutique wineries, as Chile began to shine for its superior quality and competitive prices.

The journey was not without challenges, but the perseverance and commitment of the Manríquez Verdi family paid off. Viña Casa Verdi started gaining recognition in the Americas, Europe, and especially Asia, driving its expansion in Chile with new vineyards, improvements in infrastructure, and a top-notch winemaking team.

  • HARVEST

    TODAYACOLCHAGUA VALLEY

Today, after two decades of growth and success, Viña Casa Verdi is part of the Agroverdi Group, reaffirming its social and sustainable commitment and respect for the land. Managing over 250 hectares of organic and traditional vineyards in the renowned Colchagua and Curicó valleys, it produces 200.000 cases of wine annually, exporting to more than 20 countries and solidifying its position as one of the most prestigious Chilean boutique wineries in the international market.

COLCHAGUA VALLEY

The Colchagua Valley has evolved over the past few decades from a peaceful stretch of farmland into one of the most prestigious and internationally recognized wine regions. The relatively low elevation of the coastal hills allows Pacific Ocean breezes to interact with winds from the Andes Mountains, cooling the valley and extending the maturation period, which benefits the preservation of acidity in the grapes. This results in outstanding red wines with excellent color, great freshness, and very good aging potential.

MICROVALLEY LA LAJUELA

Located in the heart of Colchagua, between the valleys of Apalta and Lolol, our beautiful organic vineyards are situated in the micro-valley La Lajuela. The Fundo La Lajuela spans 400 hectares, with 50 hectares at its center, surrounded by a ring of hills, showcasing some of the finest red grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. The gentle slopes around the vineyards promote unique and profound grape maturation, while the diverse sandy-clay, loamy, and rocky soils create a distinctive terroir for the micro-valley. Warm summers with refreshing coastal breezes and cold winters with an annual precipitation of 450 mm contribute to the production of healthy, complex, high-quality grapes, grown without chemicals or pesticides, destined for our premium wines.

CURICÓ VALLEY

With a winemaking tradition that dates back to the 19th century, the Curicó Valley remains one of the most prominent, diverse, and extensive wine regions in Chile. The area features a rich diversity of soils of volcanic and alluvial origin, with sandy and clay textures of varying content and moisture retention levels, allowing for the selection of the most suitable soil conditions for each variety to express its maximum potential. The Mediterranean climate, with hot days and appropriate solar radiation followed by cool nights, provides the necessary temperature fluctuations for producing high-quality grapes.

SAGRADA FAMILIA VINEYARD

Located in the Lontué River basin, in the heart of the Curicó Valley, the Sagrada Familia vineyards span over 200 hectares of flat terrain and gentle hills. The vineyard primarily cultivates six grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay, all benefiting from the local climatic conditions. With an annual rainfall of 600 mm concentrated in the winter months, an optimal balance is achieved between plant vigor and the production of healthy grapes. These varieties are mainly intended for the production of our reserve and special reserve wines, reflecting the essence and tradition of Chilean viticulture.

The Casa Verdi winery, located in Teno, combines modernity and efficiency with a winemaking capacity of over 3 million liters. Equipped with cutting-edge laboratory facilities, American and French oak barrels, and an automatic bottling line for bottles and aluminum cans, the entire process is certified under HACCP. Essential to this operation is our exceptional team of viticulturists, technicians, and engineers, led by our head winemaker, Paula Bottero.
