The Águila Carménère, the emblematic wine of Chile.

TASTING NOTE

Our vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, located in a mountain range that houses the La Lajuela micro valley, are the perfect home for our Eagles, who naturally maintain the vineyard's ecosystem and who inspire us to produce our flagship wine, the VERDI ÁGUILA . The VERDI ÁGUILA Carménère Family Reserve was grown only in hillside vineyards, harvested by hand and after a second selection in the winery, it was vinified for more than a year in French and American oak barrels. It is an exceptional wine, deep purple red in color, with unique notes of Chile, it has a perfect balance between spicy notes, very typical of this grape, plum, cocoa and berries. On the palate it is lively and intense, with long, silky tannins with a firm and elegant structure.

The Colchagua Valley

The Colchagua valley has evolved in the last twenty years, from a quiet extension of agricultural land to being one of the most active and prestigious winemaking regions in the country. The relatively low elevation of the coastal hills allows the breezes from the Pacific Ocean to interact with the Winds coming from the Andes Mountains, thus cooling the valley, and extending the ripening process in the region which benefits the conservation of the acidity in the grapes, which resolves in red wines of excellent coloration, great freshness, and good ageing capacity. The vast majority of the wines produced in Colchagua are reds, with a particular penchant to produce Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Syrah.
